(Full Direct Above - 11/1/18)

Yesterday was Nintendo's latest Direct. This is stated as the final Direct before the release of Super Smash Bros Ultimate, so naturally it focused entirely on the game and gave us many exciting announcements. If you missed it and want the full Direct click the video above.

1. Echo Fighter announcement: Ken

From the Street Fighter series, Ryu’s rival Ken is added to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster as an echo fighter. Ken is based on his appearance in Super Street Fighter II Turbo.

2. Incineroar:

The last character to be added to the game’s launch lineup is Incineroar. From the Pokémon series, he is the advanced evolution of Litten, who first appeared in the Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon games. Nintendo stated he uses "pro-wrestling moves". His Final Smash is called Max Malicious Moonsault, based on the Z- Move from the Pokémon games.

New fighters, stages and music will be coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate through the end of 2/20 in the form of paid DLC. Priced at $5.99 each, gamers can purchase one set, which includes a new playable fighter (not an Echo Fighter), a new stage and several tracks of music. Gamers could also choose to purchase a "Fighters Pass" for $24.99, which will grant access to five yet-to-be-announced packs: five new fighters, five stages and several music tracks as they become available. Fighters Pass owners will also be given an digital outfit based on Rex from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on Dec. 7.

Gamers who purchase SSBU before 1/31/19 will be able to register their physical copy, or have their digital copy automatically register for a free* DLC character, Piranha Plant availble around 2/19 as a pseudo-preorder bonus.

5. Adventure Mode: World of Light

Not much is know about this "story mode" accept a fun cinematic trailer dropped today where all the characters in SSBU are battling an army of cosmic "Master Hands". In a battle that would make Thanos envious, place your bet on who is the sole survivor who must save all the other characters from being turned in Spirits. I will wait...

If you guessed anyone other than Kirby, why are you even buying this game?

Nintendo announced "Spirits" which is an elaborate power up system for fighters in the game where you can add powers and abilities by adding "spirits of other characters" to main fighters. This another way besides echo fighters to bring even more characters. Gamers can equip primary and secondary spirits to power up or add additional powers like strength to their fighter during matches. You can aquire them by playing "Spirit Battles".
