NEW YEAR NEW GAMES! New Game Tuesday 1/8 - 1/14
"New Game Tuesday" is back in 2019! Every week, Game Infinite shares some of the stand out games coming out that week. While Holiday can feel like a major game is releasing every day, that doesn't mean that because the Holiday season is over, we have to wait very long before games start arriving that are going to turn some heads. Long awaited titles such as Kingdom Hearts 3, and the Resident Evil 2 remake will be coming very soon. Before that however, are some games ready to kick off the new year in style. A small but modest week, this first New Game Tuesday still has some exciting titles launching.
New Game Tuesday showcases major game releases from Tuesday to the following Monday. Scroll down to see if any of the major releases appeal to you!
1. New Super Mario U Deluxe
Release Date: 1/11
Platforms: Nintendo Switch
I am really excited about this one. As one of many who skipped the Wii U generation, and because of that there was a list of games I really wanted to play. I love the Nintendo Switch, and while it is an amazing console, it also gave us all a chance to play some of the games that didn't get a fair shot on Wii U. Captain Toad, MarioKart 8, Bayonetta 2, and others made my list for games I wished would be ported to Switch. Only a two games remained on my list for a Switch port and New Super Mario U is one of them. When this game launches it will further add to the list of Wii U titles I wanted to play. I loved Super Mario Odyssey, in fact it was my favorite game of 2017, but there is something to be said for old school 2D platforming when it comes to Mario. My only complaint is this game should have been ready for Switch much much sooner in the Switch's life cycle. This honestly should have been a launch title, not something that waited almost two years. That being said, it is finally here. This is more than a simple port as it features extra characters and deluxe content for the switch. This is the 2D Mario we have been missing in years, (and no Super Mario Run doesnt count!).
2. Everything (Nintendo Switch Port)
Release Date: 1/10
Platforms: (New on) Nintendo Switch, PS4, PC, Mac,
Developer: David OReilly
This game looks interesting. The premise is simple, you play as everything? Well almost everything, from atoms all the way up to galaxies. This is an artistic journey through the cosmos, with philosophical narration, that looks to be interesting. Launching on the Nintendo Switch means you can take Everything on the go. The movement of animals looks odd; I'm not sure how to take that. However, the game has been critically acclaimed up until now, so a new platform may be an excuse and opportunity for those of us who haven't played it yet.
3. Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition
Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One, PS4
Developer: Bandai Namco
Long time fans of the Tales series are excited for the updated Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition. Celebrating the 10 year anniversary, we get this new remaster in HD, and available on all console and pc platforms. This JRPG has many titles in its long running series, and this game hopes to excite fans with a reivist to this 10 year old game.
