New Game Tuesday, Games Releasing 5/21 - 5/27

This weeks New Game Tuesday includes some surprise releases, and is definitely exciting for Resident Evil fans and Switch owners. Resident Evil 1, 0, and 4 are all launching on Switch, as well as Assassin's Creed III is making its Switch debut as well. With little fan fair Vader Immortal and Dauntless releases were so quiet I actually missed them in my intial release research, and caught their releases today. My Bad! Check out the games below

"New Game Tuesday" showcases some major game releases from Tuesday to the following Monday. Scroll down to see if any of the major releases appeal to you!

1. Vader immortal

Release Date: 5/21

Platforms: Oculus Quest

Developer: ILMxLAB

I remember the first time I saw Vader Immortal. It wasn't at E3, CES, or even a gaming stage. It was revealed at an Apple WWDC stage of all places, and it was being used as a demo for the power of Mac for development. Then almost nothing was heard about it for years. I finally saw more at Star Wars Celebration 2019. It now launches the new Oculus Quest. With VR being already slowly adopted, expensive, and stagnant, this NEEDS to get ported to all VR platforms asap. The devlopers have said that this game was inspired by THAT scene in Rogue One. I havent gotten my hands on a Oculus Quest yet, so I hope it comes to PSVR soon so I can dust of that headet and try this.

2. dauntless

Release Date: 5/21

Platforms: Xbox One, PS4, PC

Developer: Phoenix Labs

Finally launching is the new free to play title Dauntless. What may be the most interesting thing about it, is it is the first game to launch with full "real" cross play, as the devlopers put it. Yes, that includes PS4. What is surprising is that after finally giving in to the two developers who asked Sony to give in to cross play enough with Fortnite and Rocket League, Sony has done little to expand its "cross play beta" to other devlopers. While some devlopers have called out Sony for "playing favorites" when it comes to cross play, it seems like even more so with this new game being allowed at launch when some developers have been waiting for cross play "permission" for over a year. Reguardless of the cross play political drama, Dauntless has been a hotly anticpated game for gamers for quite a while now and it is finally here.

3. Team sonic Racing

Release Date: 5/21

Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC, Switch

Developer: Sumo Digital

Publisher: Sega

They say there is no such thing as bad publicity. With all the internet meme drama surrounding Sonic in this past month thanks to an awful character design for the upcoming live action Sonic movie, so much so that the film makers felt forced to go back and change the design for the film, now may actually be a good time for a sonic game. The intenet controversy may cause people to have a sense of nostalgia for some Sonic content, and with the new game here it seems like perfect timing to fill the sonic void. Sonic is fresh on peoples minds. I think that the negativity around the movie may have an unintended "reminder-nostalgia" based boon to Team Sonic Racing where otherwise could have just been "another Sonic racing game".

4. resident evil 1, 0, 4 (Switch)

New On Switch, Multiple platforms and versions.

This is a huge year for Resident Evil fans. Not only was RE2 Remake very positively recieved, possibly being included in many Top 10 lists this year, but it is also seeing many of the older versions of the franchise get a revitalization and return to relevancy in Nintendo Switch ports. For owners of Nintendo Switch who also fans of the franchise, or new players looking to start from the beginning, Resident Evil 1, 0, and 4 are launching on Switch.

6. assassin's Creed III Remastered (Switch)

Release Date: 5/21

Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC, *New on Switch

Developer/Publisher: Ubisoft

The very first Assassin's Creed game is amazing example of how a super great concept and premise can save a series from a trash game. The first assassin's creed was so bad and repetative that I didn't bother to play the second game or the follow up spin offs. If it hadn't been for Assassin's Creed III's awesome decision to head to colonial America, I probably would never have given the series a second chance. Assassin's Creed III had an awesome look, premise, marketing, and was more than enough to draw me back to the franchise. After playing 3, I eventually went back and played the far superior sequel to the original Assassin's Creed 2 and the spin offs. I would have missed out on amazing games like Syndicate, Origins, and Odyssey. Now fast forward to 2019, we get to re-experience this awesome adventure with updated visuals and graphics that the game trully deserves. The best part is Season Pass owners of last years Odyssey (like me!) get the new game absolutely FREE. Also exciting is this is the first AC game to come to Nintendo Switch or any nintendo platform in quite a while. The last 4 major titles have skipped Nintendo probably due to size and graphics. Let's hope that more Assassin's Creed's get ported to Switch!

More games launching this week include Total War Three Kingdoms on PC. As always, stay tuned here on Game Infinite News for the latest gaming news! Check back next week for New Game Tuesday!
