These games are listed in no particular order. This is NOT a ranking.
1. Cynthia: Hidden in the Moonshadow | Gi Trailer
Release Date: 2023
Developer: Catthia Games
We got to play the demo for this one during Steam Next Fest, and we have to say it was such an absolute blast that I was sad when it was over. It is a beautiful world, filled with colorful and bright art, and cool character designs. It will have a photomode in the full release which we are looking forward to taking full advantage of photographing the vistas. It is a cartoon/cellshaded style with a beautiful world filled with enemies and puzzles. It reminded me a bit if Breath of the Wild and Horizon Zero Dawn were mashed into one, and that is a winning combo.

2. Tokyo Stories - GiFriends | Gi Trailer
Release Date: 2023+
Developer: Drecom Co.
Tokyo Stories is a project name with name subject to change. It doesn't have a steam page yet, and we don't know too much yet. But we couldn't not feature it when we just absolutely love the art style, character designs, and over all VIBE from this pixel 3D Pixel Art Sci-fi/Bladerunner-like game. Keep this one on your watch list!
3. Future Fragments | Gi Trailer (Updated: New Trailer on Gi Trailers!)
18+ (SFW) Youtube Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDfTtNB5fG0

Future Fragments has it all with exciting gameplay, full voice work, and branching story lines.

4. Under a Rock | GI Trailer
Release Date: TBA
Developer: Nordic Trolls
Steam Wishlist: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1667040/Under_a_Rock/
Developer Description: "A procedural open-world survival craft game for 1-10 players. Explore a primitive but dangerous place with a different evolutionary path; here, wildlife is oversized, Neanderthals still exist, and curses are real."
When we first saw Under A Rock, my first thought was this is the animated Tomb Raider game, a modern one with the older more cartoon art style we all want but never got. As an avid Tomb Raider fan, that thought just got me really excited for this game. Upon more inspection, this game does look to provide its own identity and bring even more to the table. It has crafting, character customization, and more. I love the art style, setting, and over all feel of the game, and can't wait to play it.
5. Eternights
Release Date: TBA
Developer: Studio Sai
Steam Wishlist: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1402110/Eternights/
Developer Description: "Eternights is a dating action game where you try to make the most out of life during the apocalypse. Monday: Go on a date. Tuesday: Clear dungeon. Friday: Freak out! The clock is ticking!!"
Eternights was a last second addition to our Most Anticipated List 2023+ last month, as I just recently heard of it and added it to the list because the game looks so incredible. Upon further inspection I was able to reach out to the devs to partner on getting it in IGRU. You might see their description of "Dating Sim" and think that this is a simple Visual Novel. However, this is a full fledged action game with actual combat, just with in-depth character interactions. After seeing the trailer if I had been told this was AAA JRPG I would have believed you. We don't get enough RPG's or action games that really give us companions and romance stories. If this turns out to the the action anime with Mass Effect style romance and friendships than this game could be a sleeper hit for 2023.

6. REKA
Release Date: 2024
Developer: Emberstorm Entertainment
Publisher: Fireshine Games
Steam Wishlist: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1737870/REKA/
Developer Description: "Start your life as a witch and travel central europe's nature with your cottage. Roam forests and swamps, collect plants, craft magical supplies for villagers and customize your evergrowing home."
This game looks to me like Hellblade and Horizon Zero Dawn came together to morph into one. It has the darker style and feel, the darker greens, witch like style of Hellblade, but with a character and open world feel that reminded me a bit of Horizon. I think that is a winning combination. This game puts players in control of a witch protagonist on a adventure across Europe. It looks exciting and we are happy to feature it in IGRU.

7. Eresys
Release Date: April 2023
Developer: Ares Dragonis

Steam Wishlist: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1918970/Eresys/
Developer Description: "Eresys is a co-op horror game inspired by the works of H.P Lovecraft. which focuses mainly on teamwork. Players take on the role of a party of 4 cultists, facing the fears of the Lovecraftian universe together. With smart AI mechanics and a variety of unique enemies, teamwork is key to survival."
Creepy dark forests are where Indie Games often thrive. This Lovecraftian horror dark forestry adventure intrigued us upon first viewing.

8. SokoChess White
Release Date: March 3, 2023

Developer Description: "SokoChess White is a puzzle game about pushing Chess pieces into their destination and overcoming various obstacles. Enjoy 70 different handcrafted levels with a unique twist on the Chess formula."
We played and enjoyed Solo Chess, so we are excited for Daisy Games next game Soko Chess White! It has new rules with only the white pieces, differing from the original game. We love Chess, puzzles, and variations on the original classic Chess formula.
