Ubisoft Forward E32021 Event Recap

Today was Ubisoft's digital event for the E3 weekend, and we got updates and announcements across Ubisoft's range of player favorites. While a shorter and smaller event than years past, we did get an update on some upcoming new titles as well some other projects Ubisoft is working on. However, many of the big titles players are eager to hear more about such as Assassin's Creed 2021/2022, Beyond Good and Evil 2, Skull and Bones, Star Wars, and Splinter Cell were all absent. In fact, the only really big titles that brought some news were Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Extraction, formerly known as "Quarantine", with much of the event focusing on smaller titles, some video projects, or some music focused titles. We did get one surprise in the form of the Avatar game. If they had shown us at least some cinematic trailers, perhaps a title for the upcoming Star Wars title, they could have made this more exciting. Fans would have enjoyed getting an update on Skull and Bones and Beyond Good and Evil 2. With more things absent than present, all in all I, rate the Event a solid "meh" with some interesting take-aways.

Full Event: MEH Rating

Rainbow Six Extraction

Imagine the awkward conversation that had to happen at Ubisoft HQ when someone pointed out that they had a game about zombie alien infectious monsters in development and called QUARANTINE, all during a real world pandemic where lots of people spent months in actual quarantine. So yeah, its called Extraction now, Doesn't appeal much to me yet, but I find the name change hilarious.

Far Cry 6

With Far Cry 6 easily being one of Ubisofts most anticipated and closer titles, it was great to get a small update and look at the game.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla (Upcoming Content, ACV has a two year plan)

As Ubisoft transitions to upcoming free to play titles, and more live service single player adventures, as Assassin's Creed keeps growing in scope, they will continue to get more and more extended content. Odyssey was one of the most post-launch supported AC games to date and Valhalla is looking to up the level again with a two year plan. We got a glimpse of the future of Valhalla.

Rocksmith+

That's right. Rocksmith is BACK. Wasn't expecting that for sure.

Watchdogs Legion DLC

I actually really liked Watchdogs Legion, more than other critics. I had a lot of fun with the world, freedom, and level of creativity. So updates and new content do excite me for Legion, and we got a small look at upcoming content.

Just Dance 2022

Another year, another Just Dance. Were you expecting anything otherwise?

Mythic Quest Season 2

I freaking LOVE Mythic Quest, and it is one of the funniest new shows. I usually am the first to want E3 to be all games, but this game developer office comedy is just gold and I love it. This season 2 trailer just got me excited, but it is already out, and I recommend watching it!

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Let's see which releases first, the never going to actually happen I'll believe it when I see it Avatar 2, or the Ubisoft game? Ubisoft gives us a first look at their upcoming Avatar open world game, Frontiers of Pandora.
