Playstation Showcase September 2021 - Event Recap

E3 2021 came and went, as did a State of Play from Sony that left much to be desired. Now, Sony decided to drop a major Showcase event where we got a massive look at upcoming PS5 titles. This was the showcase we wanted during the E3 week, and damn was it worth the wait. While we didn't get as much in terms of release dates or windows, what we did get was absolutely amazing. We got first looks at much anticipated sequels God of War Ragnarok and Spiderman 2! Also, one of the more obscure titles frequenting high on our list of most anticipated games, Project Eve got an absolutely stunning new trailer. If you want to watch the entire event, it will be linked below; however, I would actually recommend skipping the event because the live stream quality was TERRIBLE. These super compressed barely 720 30 fps youtube stream events are becoming near unwatchable. I highly recommend watching the individual 4k trailers to get these trailers in a better light.

Project Eve - New Trailer

Project Eve has been in the top few of my most anticipated list for awhile as it just looks absolutely stunning, and this trailer finally gives us an in depth look at more of the game. Eve' character model, animations, fight scenes, and moves all are some of the best I have seen in an action game to date, and really show what a true next gen title can do. It reminds me what a future Bayonetta game could be if it was being developed for modern consoles instead of the Switch. I was just blown away by the new trailer, and only more excited than before. My only disappointment is that the lack of a release window and official name, tells me that Project Eve might still be farther away than I'd like.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake

Knights of the Old Republic REMAKE IS CONFIRMED!

The Kotor remake has been the worst kept secret in the Star Wars community for a while now, but finally we get offical confirmation that is in fact happening. This is such a great news for Star Wars fans in the gaming community. E2 2021 came and went without a SINGLE star wars game, and the only one on the horizon is the forever delayed lego game. Star Wars fans are starving for game news, and KOTOR is here to answer them.

KOTOR is widely considered by many fans to be one of the greatest star wars games of all time, and it is getting a Remake. I am glad that they are calling it a Remake because that tells us this might be more than just a low effort reskin. I want this to be a modern game with modern mechanics, that simply tells the KOTOR story. Can we get Keanu Reeves to be Revan?

God of War Ragnarok

We finally got a look at GOD OF WAR! In addition to finally a title confirmation after inconsistant rumors that it was not the final name, Ragnarok looks absolutely phenomenal! Will God of War manage to pull of back to back GOTY's? I think it might just be possible.

I'm not sure I can take the Thor design seriously though...

Spider-man 2 PS5

Spider-man 2 is coming exclusively to PS5 in 2023! More than just a first look we have confirmation that it will not only have Peter and Miles, but it will also have Venom! I really do hope that Venom is a anti-hero playable character instead of a villain. I'm sorry but Venom is too cool to be wasted on a villain; I want to wreck stuff as him.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy - New Trailer

Square Enix's E3 2021 gave us a very deep look at GOTG and I will say at the time I was a little mixed on how excited I was for it. However, the trailer prepared for the Sony Presentation was pretty amazing. I feel like the game's visuals have seem some upgrades, as well now we have a talking astronaut dog... This trailer managed to increase my excitement from a wait and see to a must play!

Marvel's Wolverine

It seems we are entering a golden age of Super hero games. With Spider-man 1 and 2, GOTG, and now Wolverine, we are getting more Marvel games! This was only a teaser, but fans of the immortal blade swinging hero will be excited for this game.

Forspoken - New Trailer

Forspoken, a new fantasy IP gets a new trailer that starts to introduce us to the story of the game. Now we know that the heroine of the story is actually a person from "normal" earth that gets Dr Strange portaled to another world. This game looks beautiful and could be a sleeper hit for a new IP.
