1. ANNO: Mutationem - (UPDATE) Releases March, 17, 2022!

Release Date: 3/17/22

Developer: ThinkingStars

Publisher: Lightning Games

(Update Feb 2022: We featured ANNO: Mutationem in our first Indie Game Round Up, and around that time, the game was delayed from its December 2021 steam release window to TBA. Now, just recently we got word that the game is arriving right around the corner in March. We loved the demo, and can't wait to play the full game. Special shoutout to this epic game is in our February 2022 IGRU promo background.)

ANNO: Mutationem is a Cyberpunk world with a beautiful art style. I have played the demo and enjoyed the time so far. ANNO is an hybrid 2D/3D action-adventure game with RPG elements. For those of us who were disappointed by Cyberpunk 2077, this could be a game to scratch that itch.

We thought it was worth it to support these talented developers!)

Beyond the Long Night is a roguelike with a super fun art style and main character. The look of their game and character really captured our attention from first impression. We can't wait to try it, because this one looks super fun. It is available to wishlist now and is coming sometime in 2022.

Release Date: TBA

Developer: Squid Shock Studios

STATUS: 100% FUNDED

(Update Feb 2022: We are excited to back Bo on Kickstarter and share with our readers that this beautiful and fun looking game is currently in a live Kickstarter. We encourager you all to check out their trailer, look at the gameplay and art, and perhaps back this project! We love the bright colors, gorgeous art style, and indie goty potential. We thought it was worth it to support these talented developers!)

Players play as a small "Fox Demon" in an absolutely gorgeous art style. The game is a 2D Platform based in

"Japanese folklore" One look at this game made it an instant-wishlist for us, so check it out.

4. The Lost and the Wicked - Releases March, 24, 2022!

Release Date: 3/24/22

Developer: Isaac Torres

Developer Description: "The Lost and The Wicked is a Brutal Twin-Stick Psycho-Thriller. You wake up surrounded by strange creatures, confused with no memory. Explore the world, defeating monsters and bosses along the way... "

We were immediately intrigued by the aesthetics of Lost and Wicked. The retro art style, combined with almost sketchbook design brings back school book emo nostalgia of doodling in class. Plus is has spiders and those are the creepiest of game villains...

5. Research and Destroy

Release Date: TBA 2022

Can we talk about how wonderfully Saturday morning cartoons this game looks. I feel like a kid again when I look at this game. It just looks and feels like I'll be playing in a 90's cartoon and honestly I can't wait. It looks zany and fun and quirky, and this is one to watch out for. Get your inner kid back out and wishlist this one for sure.

6. Bio-gun

Release Date: TBA 2022

Developer Description: "Get injected into the zany world of Bio-Gun. Join Bek, a vaccine created from pig DNA, on his mission to save the dear friend of his creator, DocX. Will you be the vaccine to save dog-kind from extinction or will DocX once again return to the drawing board?"

Bio-gun looks hilariously quirky and goofy and we love it. The idea of playing as a vaccine inside a dog, and shooting is just kind of funny to us. We love the art style and the over the top setting. It looks great, and this game is one to keep an eye out for.

7. Rain in the Abyss

Release Date: TBA

Developer: NuezWare

Developer Description: "A SurvivalHorrror/Metroidvania game were the world has a constant rain, full of beauty, magic, horror and sadness. Discover an unique story that will touch each of your emotions."

We think "Rain in the Abyss" looks really intriguing. We enjoy the character designs and the world. It is coming soon on Kickstarter, and one we want to keep eye on. If you like fun colors and platforming, this could be a game to watch.

8. Gravia

Release Date: Available now in Early Access

Developer: Dan Goyette

Developer Description: "Gravia is a gravity-themed action/puzzle game where you create small "black holes" called Rifts. You'll use this power to destroy obstacles, solve puzzles, move yourself at high speeds, and hopefully not destroy yourself in the process."

The Physics Puzzle genre is one of my favorites. Games that trap you in a world or lab, and give you power over some type of physcs altering gun or ability, and let you explore that world are some of my favorites. Gravia reminds me of the company it looks to join with some truly S tier games like Superliminal or Portal. Gravia has you alter gravity with black holes, and solving physics based puzzles. It looks cool. It sounds cool. I can't wait to try this one. I just discovered it, but it's already playable in early access on Steam.

9. The Hunter of Falkenberg

Release Date: TBA

Developer: Sleipnir Dreamware

This 16-bit fantasy RPG has an eerie, foggy, aesthetic that we find interesting. The developers cite being inspired by other fantasy RPG's such as The Witcher series or Secrets of Mana, so they definitely have quality inspiration. We found their art style, and feel of the game worthy alone of mention, and we can't wait to experience this one ourselves.

10. Devil Hunter: Ragnarök

Release Date: TBA

We don't have much information about Devil Hunter yet, as it seems earlier in production, but we had to include it on this list because the screenshots we have seen alone intrigue us. This is a first person game with what looks to be a horror or survival feel to its setting. It looks like the player will be walking around eerie but unique environments, in a forest like setting. While many games in this genre are often drab, grey, and dark, devoid of details; however, Devil Hunter looks like it manages to bring color and aesthetic diversity to its environments without taking away from it's dark and eerie feel. Keep this one on your radar as more info comes out for it, and follow the dev team on twitter.
